7th July 2007, Cottingham Day. The six churches in Cottingham worked together to provide a feast of Fair Trade and Locally Sourced Food. Volunteers from all churches, manned the stalls, baked the goods and came and supported us on the day. The money raised has gone to next years Cottingham Day, and the local fund for a new scout hut.

We contacted suppliers from around East Yorkshire, many who supplied to shops in the village, others who attended local farmers markets, and other local market gardeners who supply to the supermarkets. Many thanks to Steve and Rosie for the artisty in their map!

Judy Gateland from Barmby Moor brought her fantastically fresh fruit and vegetables. You can find Judy at the Dunswell and Cottingham farmers markets on the first and second Saturdays of the month. We used some of Judy's produce in our salads and sandwiches.

Of course, all this required a lot of setup and hard work by a whole host of volunteers, not forgetting those vailant people who setup, and cleared away for us. It reminds me of a joke...how many Christian men does it take to put up a gazebo...
